AirPods Advertisement - Media Studies

The idea for this advertisement is to appeal to teenagers as they are the target audience.

Teenagers are generally drawn into images that are relatable to them.  In order for a product to be wanted by teenagers, you need to make them believe that they want to buy it and make sure that you're not telling them to buy it. It is also a good idea to use music that teenagers enjoy because they are the target audience. This would make them want to watch the ad because they enjoy the song that is in the advertisement. The music used in this advertisement is called Tokyo Drift. This is a good song and it fits the opening scene as it is someone drifting in a go-kart and Tokyo Drift is a drifting song. This song also introduces an effect of action and excitement, teenagers enjoy these emotions and this would make the ad more 'cool' and would make a teenager interested and want to watch it.

The plot for this advertisement is that someone is go-karting around a park and the go-kart is too loud for the person driving it. Someone offscreen hands them AirPods and they put them in their ears while on the go-kart. Music plays in the background while describing how useful AirPods are and the features of the AirPods. The person on the go-kart asks where he can buy these amazing earphones and the offscreen person tells them about where you can buy AirPods and the price.

The props that we used were Airpods and a go-kart.

The conventions that were used in this advertisement were the following:
Bandwagon: We show this convention by explaining how everyone is using AirPods and how it is the next big fashion item. We say that everyone is using AirPods and you should too. This will make teenagers feel like they want to buy it because everyone else is buying it. Teenagers want to fit in and if they have a product that everyone else has, they would want to buy it so they can fit in.
Emotional: Appeals to the audience's emotions by telling them that this product will make them happy and cool.
Unfinished ads: We use different words to make the AirPods sound like the best product for, audio quality, phone calls and charging time.
Endorsements: We use 3 different famous people in the AirPods ad. These people are XDGizzyGod, who is a famous youtuber, Dxcile who is an upcoming famous streamer and Theo Weatherly who is a social media influencer.
Cool Factor: AirPods make you look cool. AirPods are seen as a fashion statement and if you have them you are cool.

Potential issues:
Some of the shops of the person in the go-kart could lead to injury to the driver or the people around him. This is because the driver was drifting around the park at quite a high speed and could have crashed into a tree or another person. To prevent this the go-kart driver can drive a little slower. We can also bring a first aid kit incase anything went wrong.
We made sure that there was enough petrol in the go-kart for the shot. If we didnt make sure that there was enough petrol we could have run out of petrol mid shot and might not have been able to finish filming.
Another issue that could arise is that it is very windy that day which would affect the audio of the video. We would not be able to hear anyone speaking in the ad because the wind combined with the loud go-kart would be louder than the person speaking and therefore we would not be able to hear the person speaking well.
We also need to find a song that the target audience will enjoy because this would make them want to watch the ad because they enjoy the song that is in the advertisement.
